Central States Water Resources (CSWR), the twelfth-largest investor-owned water and wastewater utility in the U.S., announced Lateefah Anthony has joined the company as a compliance inspector in Louisiana where the company operates as Magnolia Water Utility Operating Company.
Anthony has spent the past four years working for the Louisiana Department of Health’s (LDH) safe drinking water program and will work out of Broussard, Louisiana for CSWR.
“As we acquire more underserved water and wastewater systems, CSWR is continuing to add extremely capable people like Lateefah,” said Jo Anna McMahon, CSWR’s Director of Environmental, Health & Safety.
Anthony has a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in public health. Prior to working in water quality testing for LDH, she was a coordinator for XP Synergy, working in schools with children who have mental and physical disabilities. Her focus for CSWR will be working in the field conducting drinking water and wastewater quality audits.
“We have an opportunity to really help people who cannot afford to help themselves,” said Anthony. “Public health is so important to me. I want to help as many people as possible and everyone deserves safe drinking water. When I was with LDH, I would inspect systems where iron and manganese levels were through the roof. There is a real need.”
